Selecting this Private Adult ADHD assessment is overall much faster than waiting for referrals via the NHS. I would like you to be aware of all of your options before booking this appointment.

What are my options?

1. You can ask you GP for an ADHD assessment via "Right To Choose" and request Dr Megan Stevens at Latahzan Medical Centre (your assessment and medication is funded by the NHS however, the waiting lists are still long, but faster that NHS secondary mental health referral)

2. Be referred by your GP to secondary mental health services for an ADHD assessment (waiting list can be up to 5 years)

3. Book a private ADHD assessment here now, please be aware that medication will need to be purchased privately for a minimum of 3 months. Your GP can then be asked to take over your prescription via "Shared Care" and you can access your medication via the NHS. Occasionally GP's refuse to issue ADHD medication via the NHS when requested by a private doctor. If this is the case you will need to continue getting your medication privately. You can ask your GP if they accept Private Shared Care for ADHD medication before booking this appointment if this concerns you. You will need to have a review with me yearly to continue your ADHD medication.

Step 2 Email info@latahzan.co.uk asking for the ADHD questionnaires to be sent to you for completion ahead of your appointment. You can you this now. Please complete and return all of the questionnaires ahead of your appointment as this speeds up your diagnostic assessment.

Step 3 Following this appointment, if appropriate and you would like to start medication, you will be asked to book a minimum of 3 monthly follow up appointments (£165 each) for medication titration. Your medication must be purchased privately during this titration. Prepare to pay approximately £100-110 a month for your mediation (this is an average and may be more or less depending on supply and medication type).

Step 4 After your 3 month titration, if you wish to then access your ADHD medication via your GP, we can request "Shared Care" and request repeat prescriptions like any other medictaion with standard NHS prescription changes. Occasionally GP's refuse to issue ADHD medication when requested by a private doctor. If this is the case you will need to continue getting your medication privately.

Following your appointment, we will send you a draft copy of your assessment letter for checking before being forwarded onto your GP with your agreement. Please check your junk/spam folder as sometimes our letters end up here.

Letters can take approximately 3-4 weeks to arrive with your GP. If you need a prescription urgently please ask for a private prescription.

48 hours notice is required for cancellations to receive a refund if you wish to cancel your appointment. Please note, there is a non refundable card transaction fee.
